The Sacramento Kings had a BYU Alumni Night on New Year's Eve. Clark, Ethan and I went. We got to see Jimmer at a pre-game Q&A session. After that, 40 kids got to go down on the floor during warmups and high five Jimmer and the rest of the team. Clark and Ethan were selected. Unfortunately the parents had to wait in their seats. :( It was a fun night.

Christmas!

Since we have Church at 9 am we decided to just do stockings before church. So we blocked everything else off until after church. I loved having church on Christmas. It made the day seem so full.

The kids had a great time opening their stockings. It was cute to watch Grant this year. He is starting to get it.

Then we were off to church. Which was really nice. The music was beautiful.

Lauren's big gift was her princess bike. She loved it and the helmet was the perfect finishing touch.

Grant got his own scooter. Hopefully we won't have any more fights about scooters now.

Ethan got his video games. So he was quietly self-entertaining the whole day.

Clark got some legos, so he and dad had a fun afternoon putting those together.

Thanksgiving in AZ!

This year since the kids had the whole week off from school we decided to make the trek down to AZ to see my family. We had a great time and got to see a lot of family which is always great. Here is the boys sharing one of the drumsticks. Clark finished off most of it and wanted another one. He is a good eater.

We also had a chance to spend some time with Laura and Taylor and their kids. They are the closest cousins that we have, so the kids were so excited. Gordon and Clark having a great time.

My parents had this tree in the backyard that was dying so my dad said, with Eric's help, they could chop down the tree. Needless to say they had a great time with the ax.

We also went to the Natural History Museum in Mesa with my dad while mom and Tessa were at school. The kids had a great time looking at all the dinosaur bones and playing with the exhibits.

With Grant's Birthday being so close to Halloween, and our house over-flowing with candy, I decided that the last thing that we needed was a cake. So I got some ice cream and we had milkshakes with some of the kids candy. Grant loved it that I placed all the ice cream in front of him. We could barely get him to look at the camera.

Thanks to G & G for the Car's cars. He loved them so much that he slept with them that night right by his face. Cute!

Avatar: The Last Airbender! This year for our family (yes, it is becoming a tradition to have the whole family be from the show/cartoon/movie) costumes we decided to to the Last Airbender. We just finished watching the cartoon series and the kids loved it. Plus, it had great lessons on right & wrong in every episode. Grant is Aang the Avatar, last airbender. He was loving his blue arrow. He was so proud to bend over and show everyone. Lauren is Katara from the water tribe. Notice the necklace it was her favorite part. Clark is Sokka, Katara's older brother. Of course he was all about the boomerang. Ethan is Zuko the Prince of the Fire nation. It was a fun time and we have way! too much candy at our house.

It was our off week with soccer, so we decided to go to G & G's for the weekend. It was great.
We went to Great America and had so much fun. Even Grant loved it. It was a perfect day weather wise and the park was not crowded. Bonus! This was the first time that Eric has ever been too BIG to go on a ride. Awesome! Still a great weekend.

I don't know if I have ever been this excited for school to start. Ethan is in 3rd grade now and gets to move to the big playground. Definitely his highlight. Clark is starting kindergarten. He is so excited too. I can't believe I have 2 in school. We had one quiet afternoon today. AWESOME!

Ethan has turned 8. I can't really believe it. It makes me feel old and like I have so much more responsibility. He is so excited to be 8 though. He read his whole cub scout book that first Sunday that he was given it. Here he is ready for his first cub scout meeting.

Clark had a Superhero Party for his birthday this year. It was fun and crazy with 8 little boys running around saving everyone.
We played the games as though they were training to be heros, so they tested their strength, played spiderman twister to work on agility, threw bombs into jokers mouth to work on their aim and played pin the belt on batman.
It was a fun day, but Eric and I were so tired afterwards. Parties are hard work.

Easter Sunday! The boys looked very handsome and Lauren looked like a Princess!

Easter baskets! Grant wasn't sure what was going on, but as soon as he figured out that there was candy in there he was good to go.

Ethan's school has a wonderful project/program during 2nd grade called Grandparents Day. For the last 6 weeks they have been doing generation projects (timelines, family trees, & family histories). The culmination of the week is a program for just the grandparents. They performed songs that they learned, had a lemonade & cookies social and the grandparents got to share stories with the classes. It was great. Ethan is very loved (as you can see!) and the grandmas had a great time too. Thanks for coming!

Lauren turned 3 last week and had a super cute Mom and Me Princess Tea Party. It was so fun and the girls were so cute in their princess dresses. Lauren got her Cinderella dress for her birthday. She was so excited. She is also potty-trained!!!! She decided the week before her birthday that it was time and now she is! Stubborn thing, but great for us. One kid in diapers--hallelujah!

We (I and I convinced Eric) decided to finally do Lauren's room. Since she shares with Grant we (I really) decided on green. Eric is the man and installed bead board, chair rail and new base boards in the whole room. There are new curtains to come (Thanks Grandma!). It turned out so cute.

Clark was beyond excited to go to Preschool. This is his friend Marin. They have been talking about Miss Jamie and school for weeks. It is so cute. Lauren cried her eyes out when Clark left. Funny, because all they do at home is fight. When Clark got in the car after the 1st day he yelled "Miss Jamie is AWESOME!!" Awesome for mom too.

We had one last summer trip to see Grandma and Grandpa and go to the beach. It was a typical NorCal beach day. Freezing, windy and no waves. But the kids and Eric always seem to have fun. I got to read my book, so I was happy and Grant was loving Grandma, so that was fun for me too.

Ethan has lost his first tooth. He was obsessed with it for about 2 weeks before he finally got it out. You can see the other tooth already half way in behind it. NICE! Don't worry we have already started our braces savings account! He did try to work me over for the money he was going to get from the Tooth Fairy. He started off by asking for $100 and then was fine with $50. I had to brake it to him gently that the Tooth Fairy is broke. He also wanted to know why he couldn't talk to the Tooth Fairy? We told him she was shy and he wondered why when she would be visiting him 20 or so times?! Kids are too smart these days!

Clark went to play out in the backyard and came running in telling me to look at the "squirrel" in the backyard. So I look on the fence and in the trees and can't see a thing. So Clark gets a chair and puts it in the kitchen window to show me and I still can't see the "squirrel". So we go back outside and he points at the air conditioning unit and there it is ... the "squirrel". I immediately pulled Clark back and told him it is not a squirrel and to not touch it. I poked it with a lightsaber to see if it was dead and yes, thankfully, it was. So needless to say, when Eric got home he got to take care of it. YUCK!!

For Ethan's party we went to see UP in 3D. It was really fun and a great party idea! He invited 4 friends, we saw the movie, did cake a presents super fast and it was time for the kids to go home. SWEET! For a pregnant Mom that is the way to go. But the movie was really good. We had a wonderful time. The kids were loving the 3D glasses too. Good stuff.

For Clark's 3rd Birthday we were in AZ for my brother Connor's wedding. So we went bowling with my family. The boys love to bowl and they are getting pretty good at it.

I don't know about you, but my kids are the craziest sleepers. I went in to check on the boys one night and this is what I found of Clark. Awesome! Looks comfy to me!

We had such a wonderful time visiting Laura and Taylor and going to Disneyland. Grandma even came, bonus! The kids loved it and it wasn't very crowded. Always nice.

When they both would sleep it was like a little bit of heaven. Then the monorail would go by and honk and wake them up. Dang it!

While Ethan rode some roller coasters we took the little kids on the carousel.

We even met Mickey. Luckily the kids really don't care about waiting around to meet the characters. Nice!

The favorite ride of all is the teacups. My favorite ride was Soarin' Over California. Very cool!

Sorry that it has been so long since I have blogged, but my everyday life is not the most enjoyable thing to blog about. Did the laundry, cleaned the house and the kids, made bed, did the dishes. Sorry, no pictures.

We did have one very unfortunate thing happen. Eric and I play on a co-ed volleyball team and we started a new season on Monday and in the first 5 minutes of the game Eric sprained his ankle. It is a pretty good sprain, considering it is the first time he has ever sprained it! WHAT!!!! I know, all that basketball and never a sprained ankle. Crazy!

The funniest part of the whole ordeal is seeing Eric on my crutches. They only go up to 5'10", so everybody keeps teasing him that they aren't crutches anymore they are canes. Oh, well. He is good sport and not a bad patient either.

Ethan was all about Santa at the ward Christmas Party. Clark would have nothing to do with it and Lauren was content to look from afar. Ethan wants every Star Wars guy from movies 1-6. When we got home he thought of all kinds of things he forgot to tell Santa that he wanted. Typical.

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast!

One of the fun, exciting things that Ethan did this year in kindergarten was a Thanksgiving Feast and Show. All the kindergarteners from the 5 classes dressed up. You could be either a pilgrim or an indian. Let's just say that there were not a lot of boy pilgrims!! Then they sang 2 songs for the school and parents. It was so cute and they did a great job. The teachers could learn a thing or two from a Primary chorister, but all in all very good. After they had a Feast. They kids had a blast. Fun day!

Ethan's First Basketball Team!!

Ethan finished his first basketball season. It was fun and the boys were sooooo cute! They each got an MVP trophy. Great season guys!

HALLOWEEN!!

This Halloween the kids got to be 2 things because we had the ward Trunk or Treat and Halloween. The Ward Party was first so Ethan was Luke Skywalker from Return of the Jedi and Clark was Obi Wan when he was a Padowon. Lauren was a very cute Tiger.

The next night was Halloween and it was rainy and cold, so the costumes are a little more weather proof and warm. Lauren is a duck, Ethan is a fireman and Clark is a skeleton.

Pumpkin Patch!!

We took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch and the World's Largest Corn Maze. The boys loved the Corn Maze and Lauren and I had a great time hanging out in the car.

Laura was in town with Gordon and Ella. Ethan and Clark have so much fun with Gordon. It is so cute to watch them play together. At first Lauren just tried to grad at Ella, but by the end she was being nice and they were so cute too. They loved riding in the stroller together and playing footsie.

Lauren crawled up inside the chair and got herself stuck. She was loving it at first, then she couldn't get out and was not a fan. Clark, well, he's in his own little 2 year old world. Pretty cute though. Nice finger though, MOM!

Eric's cousin Lisa got married in August and the kids and I took a trip to Grandma's to go to the wedding in Oakland. It was really fun.
Luckily Dave and Karly were there too, so the boys had their kids to play with. It was really cute to watch them.

1st Family Camping Trip!

We finally went on a camping trip with the kids. We had wanted to the whole summer, but things kept coming up and this last weekend we were finally free. We went up to Rollins Lake. It was so nice. Only 40 min from the house, with a lake, bathrooms and nice little campsites. The only really annoying thing (well 2 things) were the people that came into camp at 11:00 pm with their kids wide awake, radio going and set up camp. Of course they woke up Lauren and I let her cry a little while so they would know they were being totally rude (sometimes I am a brat). And second was having Lauren sleeping in my sleeping bag and Clark and I basically touching heads the entire night. Needless to say I did not get much sleep. But the boys loved hiking to the lake and throwing rocks into the water and at the ducks. The marshmellow roasting was the biggest hit of all. Clark couldn't get enough and we had to cut him off. You are probably wondering where are all the great pictures and awesome me forgot the camera at home. Good one MOM!! So our memories will have to suffice.

One night when Eric and I went to bed, I went to check on the boys and this is what I found. When they are awake they can't touch each other without hitting or crying or taking toys. But all bets are off when they are asleep. I don't think they could get any closer. Always nice to sleep with a knee to the back of the head.

It is so funny to watch her crawl. She always immediately goes under the table. That was Clark's favorite place too. She is really getting around now.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Ethan started school on Tuesday. It was awesome. He did so great. Got in line, waved goodbye and was off. No tears (for either of us, which is shocking). I could not believe how quiet the house was all morning. Loving it!! No fighting, until Clark woke up from his nap. But, he loved school and had a wonderful time. His teacher, Mrs. Santos is really good.

Lauren is growing up so fast. She now has her 2 bottom teeth and wants to only eat real food, no baby food for her. She loves her high chair too. She is also crawling. So begins the baby proofing.
